So, Vietnam is hot.
10 Hour coach trip from Truro to Heathrow, a 7 hour wait for our flight, 12 hours from Heathrow to Singapore (MI:3 and V for Vendetta for in-flight movies and mucho Nintendo DS games helped there) then a 2 hour flight from Singapore to Ho Chi Mihn City (the city formerly known as Saigon).
The heat hits you as soon as you step off the plane in 'Nam, then you have to wait for an hour to get a visa..ugh, i'm not good with heat.
Ho Chi Mihn is insane, bikes everywhere, they zip through the traffic like shoals of noisy fish, and the locals carry EVERYTHING on the back of these things, boxes of goods, gas tanks, puppies in cages (awww :( ) even live cows, yes i shit ye not, i saw a live cow draped over the back of a very small..bike/moped thing.
It looked very confused, as did I.
We caught the ferry from Saigon (ho chi mihn takes too long to type) to Vung Tao, which is like a kind of seaside resort town, imagine a much more tropical St Ives or Margate and you get the idea, a really long seafront lined with bars, most of which are called "girly bars" where the bar staff flirt with the old overweight single western men to encourage them to spend more Dong (the vietnamese currency). It's quite funny how easily we can be manipulated into spending more cash.
Today we hired a bike and explored the town a bit, fucking scary if you've never been on a bike before, let alone driven one, cars and busses cutting in front of you without warning, and it seems that red lights mean nothing here.
anyway, this is waay to long, and we're off out to climb the mountain to the Jesus statue that looks down on this house, camera is charges so i'll try and get some pictures up soon :)

aah yes, typey typey typey.
So like yeah, it's me, almost a year swept under the rug of Cornwall, and i get the urge to post on my dusty LJ, not for any particular reason mind you, just to like, update and shizzle.
Not much has happened really, bought a car, sold it, got given my grandfathers car because he lost his licence, got a job, left it, started doing voluntary work for a local vet, hoping to get a proper job at some point, going to Vietnam in 3 weeks, then off to Japan, where i'll stay if i have anything to do with it, i'm sure my financial situation will convince me otherwise though.
and on a completely random note, no cheese for 2 months! the cold turkey was nasty, i didn't realise cheese was so addictive, weight is falling off me, not literally because that would be pretty gross and people would be like slipping and splatting all over the place, and nobody wants to faceplant a piece of weight...whatever it looks like, cloudy jelly i expect.....

Beaches, old friends, free room and meals (short term at least) and a welcome home party.
Any reasons not to go home?
Not anymore.

It's like updatapalooza today
So..."the "can i have a word" has arrived, well, in the form of a letter, i'm being given until 3pm on Saturday, yes THIS Saturday to move out, i'm not baby friendly apparently, that and the fact that housing Benefit still haven't pulled their fingers out, despite my many phone calls.
so, this once again leaves me with a couple of choices, get angry, call houing benefits AGAIN and stress the situation, and get them to either pay up or find me a new place.
or, go home to Cornwall and forget this whole "move to Bristol" thing never happened, which is seeming like an increasingly good idea.
No offence to any of you guys, you were all great but, honestly, there's a lot of bad memories here, i got hurt by a couple of people, and i probably hurt a couple more back.
So, unless i update again with good news, this is most probably goodbye, thanks to those that helped me through the tougher times, sorry to those that had trouble because of stuff i did (or didn't do).
Mouse, signing off.....Current Mood: Defeated Current Music: silence.

So, last week, my housemate's girlfriend and baby son moved back into this house.
Every day since then has been a nightmare. i've not seen Jon as he's started working again, and as soon as he gets home he has to go on baby duty, sure the baby (William) crys a lot, and his room is next to mine but i wear my headphones so i can't hear anything, but it's not even that, i just DO NOT like like this woman, she's bitchy, never talks to me, she cooks for Jon, herself and Tom (the other guy downstairs) but so far hasn't offered me any, she stocks up the fridge and leaves no room for any of the stuff i buy, hammers past my room first thing in the morning when baby cries, waking me up in the process.
This morning she poked her head around the door and said "can you take any washing up you've got downstairs, and then i want a word"
"ok" i said, as in all honesty i did have a few bowls and glasses in my room as i've been holed up with the sickness for 3 days, so anyway i pile them up and shuffle downstairs, and start to wash up, as which point she fucks off....this was 5 hours ago, so much for "having a word", though i guess it can't be that urgent.
Things i've achieved in the last week -
Tried Eve Online - very cool MMO space game Tried Guild Wars - goodish generic 3D diablo type thing, can't decide if it's worth the money or not tried City of Heroes - very cool, spandex-clad superhero MMORPG, will possibly wait for City of Villains though Discovered the joys of Voltaire, i love this music..... Watched the entire Neon Genesis Evangelion series - it makes your brain hurt Watched Final Fantasy - Advent Children - OMG! Re-Watched Firefly - in preparation for Serenity Watched every Family Guy episode in the house
Yes i have far too much time on my hands.
AHA! Diagnosis Murder, aah i love a bit of Dick in the afternoon.
did i say that out loud?.......

So, been in Cornwall for the past 3 days sorting out something big.
I'm off to Thailand, to Koh Phi Phi, one of the island resorts that was decimated by the tsunami 8 months ago, there is a volunteer group there that are helping to rebuild the resort, it was on the BBC programme "Departure Lounge" a couple of weeks back, and it had a big impact on me.
I have the financial support of my grandparents who being big Salvation Army people think it's a wonderful idea. So i'll be leaving in 3 maybe 4 months, there's still a few loose ends here that need to be settled.
Time to do something with my life i think......

| » mouse's album review: Static X - Start a War |
It's.....wierd.
It sounds like Static X, but it almost sounds like older material, perhaps because the original drummer and guitarist are back, as Mr Tripp was convicted in Feb for liasons with a 14 year old (apparently)
At first i hated it, but it sounds much better (as does all Static X) on full volume, with repeated listenings., though Wayne's singing seems to have changed slightly...Wisconsin Death Trip is still the bands finest hour.
